A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Assistant Psychologist to support NHFT’s Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and a team of Clinical Psychologists, in transforming the way in which the Secure Training Centre at Rainsbrook is run. The aims of the framework are to develop youth custodial settings into one that is based on psychological principles. The model is known as SECURE STAIRS and whilst candidates are not expected to be familiar with this prior to application, they will be expected rapidly to become confident in it, as part of their role is to support the implementation of it within the Centre.
Whilst the ideal candidate will have experience of working in forensic settings, and/or in-patient settings with young people, we will consider those who do not have all these components but who can demonstrate the required qualities and the transferable skills to enable them to adapt to this unique role.
Assistant Psychologists receive regular supervision but will also be required to work with a reasonable level of autonomy in this challenging environment. This post will provide invaluable experience for an Assistant hoping to move onto Clinical Psychology Training and full support will be given to post holders undergoing this process.
We anticipate a high number of applications so will close the process once sufficient applications have been received. We request that only those with relevant qualifications and experience apply.
