HRV analysis question

by Ayşe

Hello, I want to learn how can I transfer the arrows that indicate time from AcqKnowledge to Kubios? Should I write the time points in Kubios manually? Or are there anything that I can do to transfer them automatically?

Fortunately, you don't have to manually write the time points in Kubios; there are ways to transfer them automatically. Here's how you can do it:

Export your data from AcqKnowledge: First, you need to export your data from AcqKnowledge in a format that Kubios can read. The most common format for exporting physiological data is the "CSV" (Comma Separated Values) format, which can be easily imported into Kubios.

Include time information in your CSV file: Before exporting your data from AcqKnowledge, make sure to include the time information (time stamps) in one of the columns of your CSV file. This will ensure that the time points are transferred along with your physiological data.

Import data into Kubios: Open Kubios and import your CSV file containing the physiological data and the associated time points.

Set the time format in Kubios: Once your data is imported into Kubios, you may need to specify the format of the time information. Kubios should have an option to select the appropriate time format used in your CSV file. Common formats include "HH:MM:SS" (hours:minutes:seconds) or decimal values representing seconds.

Automatic transfer of time points: After importing the data and setting the time format, Kubios should automatically recognize the time points associated with each physiological data sample. This will allow you to perform time-based analyses in Kubios, such as time-domain heart rate variability (HRV) analysis.

Verify and adjust if necessary: Once the time points are transferred, it's essential to verify that the data aligns correctly in Kubios. Check that the time points match the corresponding physiological data values accurately. If there are any discrepancies, you may need to adjust the time format or investigate the data structure in both AcqKnowledge and Kubios.

By following these steps, you should be able to transfer the time points from AcqKnowledge to Kubios automatically and accurately. This will allow you to conduct time-dependent analyses on your physiological data using Kubios, providing valuable insights into heart rate variability and other relevant parameters.

Hope this helps.
